Principal, Residential Credit Risk & Portfolio Management

Principal – Residential Real Estate Credit Risk (Structured Finance / Warehouse Lending) Global alternative investment platform seeking a senior credit risk leader to join their NY office, responsible for end-to-end credit approval, structuring oversight, and portfolio risk management across residential mortgage warehouse and asset-backed financing exposures. Key Responsibilities Lead credit underwriting and approval decisions across residential mortgage warehouse facilities and whole loan financing transactions Assess and monitor credit risk across residential asset classes including agency, non-QM, SFR, HELOC, MSR, and related structured products Evaluate counterparty risk across originators, servicers, and financing partners, including reputational and franchise considerations Provide independent credit views across new transactions, amendments, and renewals, challenging structuring assumptions where appropriate Review structural protections, collateral quality, and liquidity considerations within secured financing arrangements Partner closely with origination, structuring, legal, and treasury teams to shape transaction terms and ensure appropriate risk controls are embedded in documentation Conduct ongoing portfolio monitoring, identifying emerging risks and escalating issues to senior risk and investment committees Present credit recommendations and risk analysis to senior stakeholders and investment committees Contribute to the development and consistency of underwriting standards and risk frameworks across the residential financing platform Skills & Experience Required Significant experience in credit risk, structured finance, or investment roles within residential mortgage or asset-backed lending markets Strong understanding of residential mortgage products and structured credit (including agency MBS, non-QM, SFR, MSR, HELOC, and whole loan financing structures) Proven experience in credit decision-making with exposure to approval, rejection, or investment committee-level recommendations Strong counterparty risk assessment experience, including originator and servicer evaluation Deep understanding of structured finance mechanics including collateral analysis, cashflow waterfalls, and stress testing frameworks Experience with warehouse lending, secured financing, or repo structures would be highly beneficial Ability to form and defend independent credit views in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment Strong communication skills with experience presenting to senior committees or investment forums Strong commercial judgement, attention to detail, and ability to operate across complex structured transactions #J-18808-Ljbffr The FISER Group
