Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARYAssists in providing preventative and ongoing maintenance of Center facility, grounds andsystems.MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISIONMay supervise Job Corps Work-Based Learning and Leisure Time Student Workers assigned tothe department.RESPONSIBILITIESo Performs repair and preventive maintenance to facility and building systems on Center.o May inspect the work of other maintenance personnel.o Researches and recommends purchase of replacement equipment as needed.o May be asked to oversee the training activities of students assigned to the maintenance area.o May be asked to oversee the activities and quality of performance of outside contractorsperforming repairs and/or replacement of equipment.o Conducts periodic inspections of building systems and equipment to ensure working quality.o May coordinate activities with the Facilities Maintenance vocational training program, ifapplicable.o Completes work orders as assigned in a timely manner.o Provides student transport as necessary.o Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.o Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.o Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.o Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities.Proactively maintains the skills required to perform job duties.This job description includes data that shall not be disclosed outside the Corporation and shall not be duplicated, used ordisclosed - in whole or in part - for any purposes.o Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.o Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions andbehavior.o Provides quality services for students and ensures that quality is maintained and student needsare met. Follows up to ensureprompt/appropriate action is taken and that problems are in fact corrected.o Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision andservices are provided to students.o Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Managerto include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments andpositions.o Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Minimum one yearexperience in building maintenance required. Technical certificate preferred. Working knowledgeof carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, boilers and other building systemspreferred. Must possess a valid in-State Drivers License and meet Company insurabilityrequirements.Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing,carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or theability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.“Adams and Associates, Inc. abides by the requirements of 41 CFR §§ 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
