Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor‘s, Master‘s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active Maine physical therapy license required at start of assignment.
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC acceptable).
• Valid driver‘s license, reliable personal vehicle, and auto insurance required for travel between patient homes.
• Minimum 1 year of PT experience required. Home health experience preferred but other PT settings will be considered.
• Experience treating post-orthopedic surgery, post-surgical recovery, fall risk, deconditioning, and mobility impairments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous home health caseload management experience.
• Comfort with caseloads of approximately 20–25 patients per therapist.
• Familiarity with Netsmart EMR preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 0800-1700.
• Weekend rotation: approximately 1 weekend every 4–6 weeks (Saturday and Sunday).
• Holiday coverage: facility operates on major and minor holidays; approximately 50% of holidays included in contract expectations.
• Orientation: 1–2 weeks of orientation provided.
• Floating/Travel: position covers Aroostook County with travel between patient homes; clinicians may travel 50–100 miles per day.
• Scheduling flexibility: manager may consider 4x10-hour shifts.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide home-based rehabilitation that improves patient function and independence. Work with scheduler support and remote leadership, including available PT leads and manager guidance. Use Netsmart EMR to document care and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams. Your work will address functional mobility, post-operative recovery, and fall prevention to support safe community living.
