Parking Services Representative

Parking Services Representative Department: Parking and Transportation Services Location: Austin, TX Hours: 40 hours per week (scheduled) FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt Start Date: Immediately Duration: Expected to Continue Employment Type: Full‑time Job Overview Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) facilitates campus access, mobility, and services through customer‑focused, environmentally friendly, and economically sound policies. The Parking Services Representative supports campus parking operations, handles customer transactions, and assists with parking permits and access enforcement. Responsibilities Complete departmental and university forms and reports. Sell permits and other parking‑related items to customers. Accept and post payments for parking items and services, and maintain the cash drawer bank. Check permits for authorization, identify stolen or altered permits, and report discrepancies. Communicate with campus departments via two‑way radio and phone for auto assistance, boot verification, and security purposes. Drive a UT vehicle to perform various job duties, including garage, event, and surface operations. Operate multiple departmental software systems and common office machines. Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual audits of permits and access cards; compile periodic reports. Conduct general supervision over students and new cashiers. Provide continuous, exemplary customer service at cashier windows, pre‑pay gates, and lot entrances. Required Qualifications High school graduation or GED. Four (4) years of experience as a cashier in a large‑scale operation. Four (4) years of experience with large‑scale receipt, disbursement, and recording cash payments. Experience using a personal computer and performing clerical functions. Experience providing excellent customer service as part of a team. Experience completing reports, maintaining database records, and file management. Valid Class "C" operator's driver’s license and a current three‑year driving record from the current state of residence. Must have professional demeanor, attention to detail, reliable transportation, and punctual attendance. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis for any employer without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Experience gained in a university department or large‑scale parking environment. Additional certifications or training related to parking operations are a plus.
