Advance Practice Provider (Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Masters / Clinical Nurse Specialist Masters)In-Office/Onsite PositionEmployment Type: Full Time Benefits: M/D/V, Life Ins., 401(k), PTO, Paid Holidays, Bonus ProgramsSCOPE: Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, the Advance Practice Provider involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.Northwest Cancer Centers is the most advanced oncology group in Northwest Indiana. We believe that long-term care after cancer treatment is as important as your current treatment.ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.Performs procedures with minimal supervision.Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.Likely to provide case management for patients and their families.Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.May promote/provide staff educationResponsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour callsMay mentor new advanced practice providersMay precept APP students - Other duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN)Accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.This position is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years post MSN experience, preferably in the chosen specialty.RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.ORPhysician AssistantSuccessful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.This position is entry-level and typically requires 0-3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty.Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.ORClinical Nurse Specialist Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN)Accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.This position is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of post-MSN experience, preferably in the chosen specialty.RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
