Verify patient identity and ensure specimens are accurately labeled before processing. Confirm correct specimen type, collection volume, and testing requirements. Process, accession, and distribute specimens to appropriate laboratory departments. Prepare samples and required documentation for in-house and reference laboratory testing. Explain blood collection procedures to patients and provide professional, compassionate support. Follow established procedures for difficult draws, missed collections, and required recollections. Maintain aseptic technique and comply with laboratory infection prevention and safety protocols. Communicate with physicians, clinical teams, and other departments regarding specimen and laboratory needs. Monitor laboratory equipment and report maintenance or performance concerns appropriately. Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, expiration-date monitoring, and stock rotation. Perform quality control activities and required proficiency testing according to laboratory standards. Participate in laboratory quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and follow all regulatory and organizational requirements. #J-18808-Ljbffr
