This position is located in Cheltenham, MD. The core working hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, M-F. The hourly wage is $19.18. This position requires that the employee must successfully complete criminal history information background check and drug screening and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Responsible to the Custodial Foreman for the performance of assigned custodial duties at the contract site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sweeps and mops hallways, offices and stairs.
• Waxes and buffs floors with prescribed buffers.
• Strips and waxes floors.
• Shampoos rugs and carpets.
• High dusting/cleaning of offices, hallways and stairs.
• Performs general cleaning tasks when assigned such as emptying trash, emptying recycling, low dusting, glass cleaning, vacuuming, wall washing, spot cleaning and restroom cleaning.

1. Mixes cleaning solutions.
2. Maintains issued equipment.
3. Notifies supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed to perform tasks.

• All other duties assigned by Custodial Foreman.
• Essential Functions

Supervision Exercised: None.

Supervision Received: The incumbent is supervised by the Custodial Foreman.

Physical Qualifications: The incumbent must be able to stand 80% of the work time; walk 15% and sit 5%. He/she must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds in order to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipment. He/she must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and handle. All of these requirements are necessary for using ladders and stairs, cleaning low areas, high areas, benches and corners. He/she must be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workers; must be able to see, have depth perception and tell colors for safety reasons and to distinguish between chemicals.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years cleaning experience and one year of floor experience required. Ability to satisfactorily complete medical exam. Must be able to pass security clearance for designated contracts.
