Respiratory Care Practitioner

Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will competently provide essential respiratory care for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Your expertise is vital for critical respiratory interventions and patient well-being. Every day you will perform arterial punctures, continuous ventilation, airway maintenance, emergency care, infection control, isolation procedures, mechanical ventilator operation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and medical gas administration. To be successful, you will possess advanced clinical skills in all aspects of respiratory care across age groups, meticulous attention to detail, a strong commitment to patient safety and infection control, and the ability to perform effectively in emergencies. Analyzes blood specimens for pH, pCO2, pO2 and THb with no more than 5 errors per year. Demonstrates competence in recognizing and reporting critical values in the pediatric, adult and geriatric patient. Performs bronchoscopies and maintains records per procedure with a high degree of accuracy as demonstrated by Performs PFT exams accurately with Performs QC tests on blood gas analyzers, performs and maintains department QC and quality metrics such as daily crash cart checks and bronchoscope cleaning audits. Performs other procedures such as indirect calorimetry, HAST, ambulations and any other procedures requested with Maintains accurate records and billing in the electronic health record with Job Requirements Required Completion of an AMA approved respiratory therapy program 1-3 years 2 years minimum acute care experience,with 1 year of critical care experience.
