Cafe Grill CookSimply Plated is seeking a skilled Cafe Grill Cook to prepare delicious meals according to our menu. You will be charged with cooking tasty dishes that will delight our customers and in a timely manner. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.Position Hours: Monday- Friday 7:00am-3:00pmCafe Operating Hours: 8:00am- 2:00pmExpected Hours: 20-40 hours per weekRoles & ResponsibilitiesThis individual will work side-by-side with the Executive Chef and other team members to execute the Cafe rotating menu efficiently and effectivelyPrepare all food items to company specifications, including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and may assist in cooking food itemsSet up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipmentProperly labeling, dating, covering and refrigerating prepped food items for the linePerforming opening, closing & side duties – setting up, stocking, and breaking down all kitchen equipment and prep, line, expo stationsResponsible for the set-up, operation, break down, and cleaning of all kitchen equipmentMaintaining a clean and organized kitchen, line, expo, dish room and back dockUphold our high restaurant kitchen sanitation and food service safety standardsStore and rotate all products properly (follows FIFO, First In, First Out)Properly reading items printed on order tickets or automated Kitchen Display SystemAssembling orders - double checking product quality and specsDemonstrating impeccable product knowledgeAppropriately follow open and closing cleaning procedures for the café dining and grill areaMay be trained cross-trained on other positions within CafePreferred Qualifications1 years Kitchen experience requiredExperience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakewareKnowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)Ability to follow all sanitation proceduresAbility to multi-task and work effectively in a team environmentExcellent communication and customer service skills, as well as a strong work ethicHigh school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantageAbility to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scannersTake pride in brand by always being in uniform and looking crisp and professionalOur Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to push up to 50 poundsMust be able to be on your feet for an entire shiftReliable transportation and ability to commuteCan read and interpret recipes, safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manualsMust be able to work around food and cleaning products.Benefits:Competitive PayPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysDiscounts on Catering and Cafe ServicesSimply Plated is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any applicant on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, marital status, age, disability, sexual orientation, military/veteran status, or any other status protected by federal or state law or local ordinanceSalary: $16 - $18 per hour
