Job Summary

A Staff Accountant opportunity is available in Fontana, CA for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys owning the details, improving processes, and supporting accurate financial reporting in a fast-moving operating environment. This contract/temporary role is ideal for someone with strong general ledger experience, practical Excel skills, and the ability to work independently through reconciliations, month-end close activities, and accounting issue resolution.

This position offers the chance to work closely with accounting and operations teams in a collaborative environment where accuracy, accountability, and follow-through are valued. The right candidate will join a team that appreciates practical problem-solving, clear communication, and dependable support for internal business partners.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and post journal entries while supporting an accurate and timely month-end close process.
- Own general ledger, bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations, including research and resolution of discrepancies.
- Support inventory accounting, cost analysis, and variance review in a distribution or operating environment.
- Maintain schedules for fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, and other assigned accounts.
- Use Excel and ERP system data to improve reporting, analyze activity, and reduce manual processes.
- Assist with sales tax support, audits, special projects, documentation, process improvements, and internal controls.

- Pay range: $35 to $38 per hour.
