Senior Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $45.00 to $50.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage fixed asset accounting activities, including asset tracking, depreciation, reconciliations, and financial reporting support.
• Oversee lease accounting processes by maintaining schedules, recording transactions, and ensuring accurate reporting of lease obligations.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the month end and year end close process.
• Analyze financial activity, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate accounting records.
• Support audits, compliance requirements, financial reporting projects, and cross functional accounting initiatives.

Requirements

• A Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger and close process exposure.
• Previous experience with fixed asset accounting, including asset capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of lease accounting and financial reporting requirements related to leased assets and obligations.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and reconciliation procedures.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel skills with experience analyzing large data sets and preparing complex accounting schedules.
• Prior experience with ERP systems, fixed asset applications, lease accounting software, or similar financial platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with a focus on identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Public accounting experience, professional certification, or experience in a multi entity environment.
