Design Engineer Monroe (AeroMotion)

DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:Design Engineer will develop, plan organize and conduct complex design assignments and be responsible for supporting all aspects of design and analysis for actuation. Candidate will be familiar with testing hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems components. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:• Perform duties in support of new product and sustaining designs• Coordinate with other Engineering and technical groups to develop, implement, monitor, and status assignments• Responsible for completing development, design, testing and certification assignments for new design or modifications. Develops creative, scientific alternatives during course of job assignments to reach desired outcome.• Initiate designs or incorporate design improvements utilizing CATIA V5 and V6 or SolidWorks software with an emphasis on modeling and drafting• Consults and coordinates with other engineering and manufacturing personnel to coordinate design function and resolve technical problems. Consults with supplier to discuss and remedy issues in a more timely and efficient manner.• Requests and coordinates work performed by Engineering support groups, Experimental, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management for the project• Maintains contact with Product Support Engineering and production departments to resolve engineering problems impeding production and to assist in the incorporation of new design concepts and changes.QualificationsEDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related field• Minimum of 5 years engineering experience or relative aviation technical experience. • Preferred knowledge or experience with any of the following o Hydraulic Actuators – Internal Locking and Non-Lockingo Hydraulic Valves, Reservoirs, Accumulators, Pumpso Hydraulic Power Packso Linear and Rotary Electro-mechanical actuatorso Ball-screws, Roller Screws, ACME Screwso Gears, Splines and Planetary Gear Setso Electronic Enclosures• Preferred experience with the following:o Manufacturing processes used to make these types of productso Materials and Processes used for these type of productso Finishes and tolerances associated with these type of productso MMPDS Material Properties, SN Curves etc.o Regulatory requirements for qualifying and certifying these types of componentso Vibration modes and testing associated with these types of components and systemso Desirable to understand thermal considerations associated with these types of components and systems o Tests & methods used to qualify these types of productso Motors and controlQUALIFICATIONS:• Strong familiarity with CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software• Familiarity preferred with software packages such as KissSoft, LabView, MatLab Simulink, MathCad • Demonstrated technical and organizational leadership• Demonstrated ability to work as a team player both internally and externally• Strong presentation skillsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job.
