Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Urgent Care Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 26 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description The Registered Nurse functions within the Urgent Care Department, providing assistance to patients and medical staff within an ambulatory care setting. This role is responsible for the overall operation of the clinic, ensuring high-quality care and services. Key Responsibilities Deliver clinical services in collaboration with providers and clinic staff, ensuring excellent quality of care and efficient resource utilization. Provide leadership and direction to clinic staff, facilitating efficient operations in all aspects of the clinic, including patient care and front desk activities. Maintain medication inventory and manage supplies not on the Warehouse PAR system. Conduct necessary quality control checks on Point of Care tests. Document all care and services accurately and professionally in a timely manner. Oversee the opening and closing procedures of the provider clinics. Anticipate the needs of providers and staff to enhance patient care efficiency and quality. Communicate effectively with other departments to serve as a resource for patients, providers, and fellow clinic staff. Qualifications Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of urgent care experience. Knowledge and Skills Proficient in applying the nursing process in a working environment. Strong understanding of customer service principles. Knowledge of safety and infection control protocols. Skilled in assessments, specimen collection, and the use of medical equipment. Effective oral and written communication abilities. Able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented with a willingness to teach and support colleagues. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Eager to seek assistance when faced with new or challenging situations. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently stands, walks, sits, uses hands to handle or feel, and reaches with hands and arms. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may also be required. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Shift Information Urgent care operates from 8 AM to 8 PM with varying shifts across days and hours.
