About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and seasoned Senior Project Manager to join our Professional Services team. In this role, you will lead the governance and end-to-end execution of complex, high-stakes migration and implementation projects for our most strategic customers. Serving as the primary bridge between sales, technical delivery teams, and executive stakeholders, you will ensure that sophisticated cybersecurity and networking solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with agreed success criteria for minimal-disruption or zero-/low-downtime outcomes. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in professional services, SaaS or cloud technology delivery, project management, and executive-level customer relationship management. Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams of technical professionals, consultants, FDE's, partners, vendors, and customer stakeholders to deliver complex consulting and multi-workstream implementation services in mission-critical enterprise environments.
• Own project governance across the full project lifecycle, including project charters, scope definition, success criteria, delivery plans, RAID management, stakeholder communications, change control, acceptance criteria, and closeout / lessons learned.
• Establish and maintain high-trust relationships with key customers, partners, and vendors to drive long-term satisfaction, adoption, and revenue growth.
• Ensure Professional Services engagements are delivered on time and within budget by actively managing project financials, resource forecasts, scope performance, timeline performance, change requests, and executive reporting.
• Develop, implement, and refine scalable methodologies, playbooks, templates, and best practices that improve the global efficiency and effectiveness of Professional Services delivery.
• Ensure a seamless and consultative sales-to-delivery transition by validating scope, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and customer success criteria before project kickoff.
• Proactively identify project risks, including zero- or low-downtime migrations, multi-vendor dependencies, resource constraints, scope changes, and customer operational impact, and implement mitigation strategies to protect customer outcomes.
• Transform raw project data into clear, data-driven insights and regular status narratives for internal and external leadership regarding project health, risks, decisions, financials, and resource utilization.
• Proactively leverage AI tools to optimize project workflows and technical delivery, serving as a force multiplier for project teams by streamlining administrative work, improving visibility, and increasing overall project productivity.
• Collaborate across Account Teams, Customer Engineers, Support, Product, Engineering, Professional Services leadership, and other internal stakeholders to resolve blockers, advocate for customer requirements, and maintain a unified one-team approach to delivery.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• Project and Portfolio Management: Mastery of project and portfolio management (PPM) principles, with the ability to oversee a high volume of concurrent workstreams while maintaining strategic alignment with customer and business objectives.
• Strategic Execution: Proven ability to manage ambiguity, shifting priorities, and competing stakeholder needs while maintaining disciplined prioritization, scoping, and delivery governance.
• Executive Presence: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the credibility and gravitas to influence C-suite stakeholders, lead through persuasion, and communicate complex delivery topics clearly.
• Ambiguity and Operational Craftsmanship: Proven ability to remain effective and organized in an evolving environment where processes are still being defined. We are looking for a builder who can identify gaps in the current delivery lifecycle and proactively establish the governance frameworks, playbooks, and internal standards necessary to scale the organization.
• Technical Literacy: Working knowledge of how the Internet works, including networking, security, Zero Trust / SASE, DNS, APIs, and related technologies. This person should be able to partner effectively with technical delivery teams without needing to be the technical owner.
• AI-Enabled Delivery: Demonstrated ability to use AI tooling responsibly to improve project planning, summarization, risk identification, reporting, and team productivity.
• Change Management: Experience in organizational change management, including guiding enterprise customers through the cultural and operational shifts required by digital transformation and technology migration programs.
• Conflict Resolution: Advanced skills in managing friction within project teams, across internal stakeholders, or with customers to reach mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Collaborative Leadership: Proven ability to navigate and influence a complex matrix of internal stakeholders, including Account Teams, Customer Success Managers, Support, Product, Engineering, and Professional Services leadership, to resolve blockers, advocate for customer requirements, and maintain a unified one-team approach to delivery.

Experience

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in professional services, project management, program management, or a senior customer-facing delivery role within a high-growth technology environment.
• Highly organized, with exceptional time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, dependencies, and executive stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated track record of leading high-profile, high-impact projects involving third-party partners, consultants, technical delivery teams, and complex multi-vendor ecosystems.
• Experience managing strategic customer programs from kickoff through closeout, including project charters, governance cadences, risk management, change control, executive reporting, and lessons learned.
• Sound business judgment, an ownership mindset, strong analytical capability, and a proven ability to influence results across global stakeholders.
• Expert proficiency with Jira, Salesforce, Professional Services Automation (PSA), or equivalent project / portfolio management tools.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or related advanced project / program management certification is highly preferred.

Compensation

Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. This role is eligible to earn incentive compensation under Cloudflare's Sales Compensation Plan. The estimated annual salary range includes the on-target incentive compensation that may be attained in this role under the Sales Compensation Plan.

• For Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $155,000 - $213,000.
• For NY and Washington DC based hires: Estimated annual salary of $149,000 - $205,000.
