Responsibilities Supervision, tactical execution, installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, FLS, plumbing/piping equipment, machinery, and controls located in the interior and exterior of the building. Coordinate and integrate all aspects of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing maintenance, maintenance contracting for service to critical equipment, and planning for capital equipment replacement and new construction. Direct responsibility for the tactical deployment of the Critical Operations Team; assist customers on the Data Center floor with requests, assist with customer installs, and support other customer-related projects. Provide team leadership including development, on-the-job training, coaching, mentoring, and staffing-related activities. Support a 7x24x365 data center environment; this role is not eligible for remote or hybrid work. Establish, implement, and maintain facility policies, procedures, and organizational structure in alignment with management and corporate policy while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Develop emergency response planning, response management, and incident reporting for electrical, mechanical, controls, and plumbing systems. Lead preventive maintenance on equipment including refrigeration, heat exchangers, HVAC, electrical, emergency backup systems, and hot water systems. Oversee work orders for preventive and corrective maintenance on critical systems and building structures; order and budget parts and supervise work to completion. Facilitate Data Center space and cable plant design, implementation, and maintenance. Ensure incidents and work orders are completed, updated, and resolved promptly; lead response to emergencies and customer concerns. Confer with subject matter experts to resolve operational problems, develop procedures, and approve major estimates. Comply with policies on safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace. Provide updates and reporting to the Critical Operations Manager and Site Director; stand in for the Critical Operations Manager as needed. Supervise, train, develop, mentor, and coach Critical Operations Technicians; manage direct reports, performance goals, and professional development. Ensure all customer requests are completed and resolved in a timely manner. Basic Qualifications Four or more years of workplace or relevant industry experience. Previous direct or indirect people leadership experience. Preferred Qualifications Six or more years of workplace or relevant industry experience. Previous people leadership experience in a data center environment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent people skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization; exceptional customer service; ability to analyze system operations, diagnose problems, and take corrective action; ability to manage complex situations during off-hours as a single point of contact; strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team; ability to apply job-related knowledge within guidelines; physical ability to perform duties (frequent typing, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching).
