Data Engineer - Finance & Analytics

Salary: $187,200 - 197,600 per year Requirements:

• We need expert-level proficiency in SQL, Python, and Power BI.
• We are looking for hands-on experience building solutions in Microsoft Fabric or similar enterprise data engineering platforms.
• We require proven experience with ETL/ELT pipeline development, dimensional data modeling, and rigorous data validation practices.
• We need the ability to connect technical and non-technical stakeholders across Finance and IT.
• We value strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Preferred: prior experience in data engineering, data science, or BI within Finance, Fintech, or corporate analytics.
• Preferred: strong understanding of Data Lakehouse architectures and multi-layer data pipelines using Bronze/Silver/Gold patterns.
• Preferred: practical background in financial reporting structures, AR workflows, and performance metric analysis.
• We require a bachelors degree.

• We partner closely with Finance leadership and business stakeholders to turn complex needs into scalable data models and analytical transformations.
• We prototype, build, and test ETL/ELT pipelines before IT deployment, ensuring they align with Finance operational and analytical needs.
• We design, optimize, and document finance data models in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to support enterprise reporting.
• We lead data validation and ongoing refinement for key financial workflows and operational reporting models.
• We collaborate with core IT engineering teams to move validated models into production-ready ETL pipelines.
• We proactively audit, identify, and resolve issues related to data quality, lineage, and transformation logic.

We are a finance and technology-focused team seeking a Data Engineer for Finance Systems & Analytics on a contract basis in a telecommute setting, with work hours from 8am to 5pm and an hourly pay range of $90 to $95.
