A long-term care pharmacist role is available on a contract-to-hire basis, requiring 40 hours per week with a schedule accommodating weekday and weekend shifts. The position supports skilled nursing facilities, personal care homes, and hospice services by ensuring medication accuracy and providing clinical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders processed by data entry technicians for various care facilities.
• Review blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications for accuracy.
• Respond to clinical inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians via phone.
• Conduct controlled substance counts and maintain perpetual inventory records.
• Inspect emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
• Current pharmacist license in good standing within Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of one year of pharmacy experience, with preference for long-term care exposure.
• Capable of physical tasks including sitting, standing, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.

Hours and Location:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Pharmacy operating hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Sunday 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
• Based in Kittanning, Pennsylvania.
