Electrical Superintendent
The Electrical Superintendent oversees and manages the day-to-day execution of electrical construction projects in the field. This role serves as the lead field supervisor for a single project and reports directly to the Project Manager. The superintendent ensures that electrical work on industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and infrastructure projects is completed safely, on schedule, and to established quality standards, while coordinating crews, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise electricians and foremen on active construction sites, providing clear direction and support to ensure safe and efficient work.
- Coordinate field manpower and subcontractors to meet project schedules, production goals, and quality expectations.
- Review blueprints, one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and project specifications to plan and execute electrical construction activities.
- Manage project schedules at the field level, monitoring progress, identifying potential delays, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee material deliveries, ensuring that required equipment and supplies are ordered, received, and available on site to support ongoing work.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce adherence to NEC, OSHA requirements, and electrical safety standards across all field activities.
- Ensure all electrical work is completed safely, on time, and in accordance with quality standards and project specifications.
- Coordinate daily with project managers, contractors, engineers, and field crews to align field operations with overall project objectives.
- Support commissioning, startup, and functional testing of electrical systems, including controls, automation, and power distribution components.
- Monitor job site safety, production, scheduling, and quality control, taking proactive steps to address issues and maintain a safe work environment.
- Participate in planning and construction management activities to support industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, commercial buildings, and infrastructure projects.
- Maintain accurate communication and reporting to the Project Manager regarding field progress, challenges, and resource needs.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum of 5+ years of electrical construction experience.
- At least 1+ years in a leadership role such as lead electrician, general foreman, or superintendent.
- Strong experience in industrial and commercial electrical construction.
- Proven experience managing field crews and subcontractors on construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA requirements, and electrical safety standards.
- Experience with commissioning, startup, and functional testing of electrical systems.
- Strong planning, scheduling, and communication skills to coordinate complex field activities.
- Familiarity with controls, automation, and power distribution systems.
- Hands-on experience in electrical construction, construction management, and construction supervision.
- Understanding of commercial construction practices and working with general contractors.
- Exposure to substation and power systems work.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts relevant to construction.

Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
