Technical Sales Representative - Industrial Materials - Northern CA
Our client is a global distributor of a wide variety of materials used by Original Equipment Manufacturers and Contract Manufacturers, including adhesives, coatings, lubricants, resins, tapes, specialty chemicals, thermal management materials and others. They require an experienced Technical Sales Representative to develop a Northern California and Northern Nevada based territory. Interested candidates must already reside within the territory. Some overnight travel required.
Responsibilities
- Develop opportunities and grow sales of industrial materials, including adhesives, tapes, coatings and others used by OEMs and contract manufacturers in northern CA and northern NV.
- Build productive, professional relationships at key customers within their manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, quality and management functions.
- Learn product technology and develop expertise in customer end-use manufacturing applications and work to be recognized as a resource by customers.
- Stay current with specialty chemical technology and solutions; participate in supplier provided training and attend industry specific trade shows.
- Successfully collaborate across internal functions including customer service, sales, supply chain and marketing.
- Work with supplier partners to identify revenue and close customer revenue opportunities.
- Create and implement effective target account plans and sales tactics.
- Write and deliver impactful sales reports and presentations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of industrial, B2B sales experience.
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline or business related field.
- Prior experience in chemical manufacturing or engineering industry applications strongly preferred. Distribution sales experience is desirable.
- Experience in coatings, adhesive, lubricant or tape technology is highly desirable.
- Consumer electronics or Contract Manufacturing experience is desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working in Microsoft Office and ERP system (Salesforce preferred).
- Willingness to occasionally travel overnight within sales territory and for industry and sales meetings.
