Associate Technical Designer

With more than 90 employees and continued rapid growth, we're looking for an Associate Technical Designer to join our Research and Development team. Position Overview As an Associate Technical Designer, you'll support the creation and development of new bedding products alongside our R&D team. Working under the direction of our design and product development leaders, you'll help build and maintain tech packs, prepare design and specification materials, and support the product development process from concept through production. This is an ideal role for a recent graduate — or someone currently working in technical design — who is passionate about textiles and eager to grow. Key Responsibilities Build, complete, and update technical packages (tech packs) for bedding and textile products under the direction of the R&D and design team Create and revise design and illustration assets using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, and related tools Prepare specification sheets with detailed measurements, tolerances, and construction details Support product data entry and management within our PLM system Assist with fabric, weave, and material research to support product decisions Participate in sample review and product testing to help ensure products meet quality standards Coordinate with team members and vendors to keep product development moving on schedule Maintain organized records, samples, and version control across active projects Qualifications College degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field 1–3 years of experience in technical design, or comparable internship, coursework, or portfolio experience Demonstrated experience with Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop), Canva, and other illustration tools Experience building and managing tech packs Solid understanding of fabrics, weaves, and manufacturing processes Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word PLM experience is a plus Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects at once We are only considering candidates who: Currently live in Minnesota or the immediate surrounding area Can reliably commute to our Columbus / Forest Lake location daily Are available for in-person interviews at our office Compensation and Benefits Hourly Range: $22.00–$28.00/hour Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Company-paid Short-Term Disability and Life Insurance 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave (private plan through Guardian) Employee discount on Bare Home products — you'll sleep well knowing you're making a difference Application Process Ready to grow with us?
