Physical Therapy Aide PRN The Physical Therapy Aide in an outpatient orthopedic setting is a pre‑licensure or newly graduated clinician participating in a structured mentorship and training program. This role focuses on developing advanced skills in orthopedic evaluation, manual therapy, movement analysis, and evidence-based treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, in accordance with Virginia regulations. The aide will progressively build independence while delivering high-quality care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions, post‑operative needs, and functional limitations. Responsibilities Assist with and progressively perform orthopedic evaluations under direct supervision. Deliver individualized treatment plans for conditions including post‑operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, spine conditions (neck and low back pain), and general orthopedic dysfunction. Perform and learn hands‑on techniques such as manual therapy, soft tissue mobilization, and therapeutic exercise progression. Analyze movement patterns, posture, and biomechanics. Educate patients on injury prevention, recovery timelines, and home exercise programs. Eligible for Virginia licensure (or actively pursuing). Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain). Strong interest in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. Excellent communication and patient engagement skills. Clinical rotations in outpatient orthopedics, preferred. Exposure to manual therapy techniques, preferred.
