The 1W Acuity Adaptable Unit is a new 12-bed oncology-focused Med-Surg/Progressive Care unit at Bloomington Hospital, opening in early summer 2027. The unit is designed to accommodate varying levels of patient acuity while delivering specialized oncology care. Schedule includes one on-call shift every six weeks.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
