Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity for an Occupational Therapist at a school-based setting near Newark, NJ, serving a diverse student population. This position begins October 1st, 2026, and runs through April 15th, 2027, offering the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of students with high needs and a range of disabilities. Work with students aged 5 to 21, all conveniently located within a single site, ensuring continuity and focused support during school hours from 8 am to 3 pm.

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy license for New Jersey
  • Background in school-based OT practice
  • Experience working with various disabilities and high-needs caseloads
  • Competency in adapting interventions to individual and group needs
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and goal setting
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and families
  • Effective communication and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted occupational therapy interventions to support students' educational participation
  • Assess students' needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver therapy for ages 5–21
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance students’ learning experiences and functional independence
  • Participate in IEP meetings, generate required reports, and maintain accurate records
  • Guide and educate educators and parents on therapeutic strategies and support
  • Support student transitions and develop strategies for varied disabilities
