At Bocar US, we take pride in building strong teams and offering long-term career opportunities where your skills and contributions are valued Job Summary The Preventative Maintenance (PM) Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repair on all aluminum die casting melt, and machining equipment and other plant equipment to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency. The technician will complete preventative maintenance tasks, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and support other continuous improvement activities. Duties and responsibilities Execute and document scheduled preventative maintenance procedures for die casting machines, trim presses, melting furnaces, robots, heat treat, and assembly equipment. Inspect, lubricate, and clean all equipment according to the maintenance schedule to prevent failures. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctions in mechanical, electrical (including PLC controls), hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Disassemble and reassemble machine components, repairing or replacing worn/defective parts. Read and interpret technical documents, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, as well as equipment manuals. Assist in welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and fabrication tasks as needed for repairs and modifications. Maintain accurate and timely records of all maintenance and repair activities. Operate powered industrial trucks (e.g., forklifts, hoists) safely to move machinery and materials. Adhere to all company safety, environmental, and quality policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Technical or trade school certification is preferred. Minimum of 1 – 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment, preferred; experience with high-pressure die casting equipment is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency with hand and power tools, machine shop equipment, and precision measuring tools. Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Siemens) is a plus. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems. Willingness to learn new skills and be part of a team-oriented environment. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Availability for overtime and flexible shift scheduling as needed.
