Position Summary: Quality Inspector:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to ensure that all sheet metal and precision-manufactured components meet customer, engineering, and company quality standards. The Quality Inspector will perform in-process, first article, and final inspections using a variety of precision measuring tools and inspection equipment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with industry specifications and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities: Quality Inspector:

• Perform incoming, in-process, first-piece, and final inspections of sheet metal and precision-machined components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T symbols, customer specifications, and quality standards.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, finishes, and material requirements using precision measurement equipment.
• Utilize inspection tools including:
• Calipers
• Micrometers
• Height Gauges
• Bore Gauges
• Thread Gauges
• Optical Comparators
• CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment
• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and complete inspection documentation.
• Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials or products.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
• Maintain inspection records and quality documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Support internal audits and customer quality audits.
• Verify proper material certifications, traceability, and documentation.
• Work closely with production, engineering, and manufacturing teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other applicable quality management systems.
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Required Qualifications: Quality Inspector:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a sheet metal, fabrication, machining, or precision manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications: Quality Inspector:

• Experience operating or programming CMM equipment.
• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485 quality systems.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Prior experience in aerospace, defense, medical device, or high-precision manufacturing environments.

Physical Requirements: Quality Inspector:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Frequent use of hands for measuring and inspection activities.
