The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Senior Operations Research Analyst (GS-1515-13), working at the 59th Test and Evaluation Squadron (TES), on Nellis Air Force Base (AFB), in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Salary ($108,719 - $141,337) based on experience.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

Qualifications/Requirements:

In this position you will serve as a key analyst and recognized expert performing professional and scientific work requiring the design, development, and adaptation of mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods and techniques for various weapons systems and provide advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative courses of action.

Must be able to obtain & maintain a "Top Secret/SCI" Security clearance.

This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position

This position may be designated as an acquisition position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP), required to acquire and maintain APDP Level 2 certification in Test & Evaluation (T&E).

EDUCATION:

This position requires a degree in operations research; OR at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

• Knowledge of a broad range of weapons systems operations research analysis techniques and possession of analytical abilities.

• Knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions.

• Skill to negotiate and/or defend findings and program support concepts.

• Ability to lead study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints.

• Ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques and design, build, and use models and simulation techniques.

HIGHLY DESIRED:

- Bachelor of science degree from an accredited institution in mathematics, computer science, one of the physical sciences, engineering or a closely related scientific discipline.

- Advanced degree(s) are preferred.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

MATLAB, coding, JUMP software, fighter aircraft, statistical analysis, design expert knowledge, simulation knowledge, hypothesis testing, ANOVA knowledge, parametric and nonparametric statistics, operational test, tactics analysis, and big data analysis.
