Payroll and Benefits Advisor - 12 Month Temporary Role Job Description Position Overview The People & Culture is responsible for ensuring that Schroders maximizes its investment in people. It does this by developing and implementing initiatives, policies, and practices that attract, develop, and retain high-quality employees to achieve business objectives in line with our values and stated vision. As part of the US P&C team, the Payroll & Benefits Advisor will support the US employees across all payroll and benefits related matters, including the accurate and timely delivery of payroll and benefits administration, providing employees with trusted advice and support, and ensuring compliance with local and federal labor laws. The Payroll & Benefits Advisor is expected to be client (internal) service-oriented, with an ability to multitask, manage multiple workstreams and adapt to changing priorities within a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and wellness plans. Manage benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and annual open enrollment activities through ADP. Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, deductions, and leave programs. Coordinate with benefits carriers, brokers, and third-party vendors to ensure accurate eligibility, enrollment, and billing. Reconcile benefit invoices and payroll deductions and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders. Support compliance requirements related to payroll taxes, wage and hour regulations, ACA, COBRA, retirement plans, and applicable federal and state laws. Prepare payroll and benefits reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for audits and internal reporting. Process semi‑monthly payroll accurately and timely using ADP, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonus payments, deductions, and payroll adjustments. Review and audit payroll data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to established controls. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and payroll‑related issues. Partner effectively with internal stakeholders including Finance, People & Culture Operations, Compensation, as well as external providers. Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, controls, and the employee experience. Support People & Culture initiatives, system enhancements, and projects as needed. Maintain employee payroll and benefits records, ensuring data integrity across HR and payroll systems. Support the administration and promotion of employee well‑being and wellness initiatives, including wellness campaigns, employee education programs, vendor partnerships, communications, and engagement activities designed to enhance the overall employee experience. Position Requirements 3–5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration. Hands‑on experience processing payroll. Strong working knowledge of multi‑state payroll practices, payroll taxes, and benefits administration. Experience administering employee benefit programs, including health and welfare, retirement, and leave‑related programs. Strong understanding of payroll controls, compliance requirements, and confidentiality standards. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience generating reports. Proficiency in other Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines. Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external partners. Financial services or professional services experience preferred. Compensation Schroders offers an hourly pay range of $45 – $55 per hour for this position. The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting.
