North Kern State Prison
Job Description and Duties Under direct supervision of the Community Resource Manager (CRM) D.O.C., the Native American Spiritual Leader provides spiritual and moral guidance to incarcerated people, conducts spiritual ceremonies and sacred religious rituals, and instructs those interested in the history, culture, and religious practices of Native Americans. Minimum Qualifications Current recognition as a spiritual leader and in good standing with a Native American Tribe, Nation, Band, or Rancheria (letter of certification of good standing required). Demonstrated commitment to the rights and dignity of incarcerated individuals. Ability to perform spiritual ceremonies and deliver religious instruction per cultural guidelines.
