Hematology/Oncology Physician

Locums - Coos Bay, Oregon, Hematology/Oncology Opening

Start Date: ASAP

Coverage Need: Full-Time Coverage Required4 weeks per month

Schedule Details:

• 4 or 5 days per week
• 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
• Administrative day or half-day available as needed

Weekend Requirements:

• One weekend per month

Practice Setting: Outpatient Free-Standing Cancer Center

Reason for Coverage: Physician retirement and relocations

Responsibilities: Functions as a member of the clinical patient care team performing tasks and procedures consistent with the training and licensure of a Medical Oncologist/Hematologist.

Call Schedule:

• 7 consecutive days of call, including one weekend
• Call rotation: 1:4

Patient Volume:

• Outpatient Clinic: 10-15 patients per day
• Inpatient/Hospital: Only when patients are admitted for inpatient chemotherapy

Patient Mix:

• Approximately 80% Oncology
• Approximately 20% Hematology
• Most benign hematology cases are referred out to prioritize timely access for newly diagnosed solid tumor patients

Support Staff:

• 3 Physicians currently in practice
• 2 APPs currently providing coverage
• Radiation Oncologists available during locum coverage

Facility Details:

• Trauma Level III

EMR: Epic

Credentialing Timeframe: 6-8 weeks

Requirements:

• Board Certified in BOTH Hematology and Oncology - Required
• Active Oregon License - Highly Preferred
• DEA (Verbal Confirmation) - Required
• Clean Background / No Malpractice History - Highly Preferred
