Speech Language Therapist - SLP
Champion Communication for All Ages in Beautiful Oregon – Join Us as a Speech Language Therapist
What if your next professional journey allowed you to transform lives through the power of speech? As a Speech Language Therapist in the picturesque surroundings of Portland, Oregon, your efforts will not merely tackle communication and swallowing challenges but will also empower individuals to discover their voice, rejuvenate their self-confidence, and foster meaningful connections across generations. Picture yourself guiding children through their first utterances and supporting older adults in reclaiming their independence.
This position invites you to make a substantial impact on diverse clients while enjoying the flexibility and gratification of a role that integrates outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient services. Whether your passion lies in aiding young children with their language skills, assisting adults with neurogenic communication disorders, or providing cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for seniors, you will find both satisfaction and variety in your caseload.
Conduct assessments for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized measures and observational methods.
Craft individualized treatment plans that focus on immediate and long-term needs in communication, cognition, or swallowing.
Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions targeting language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to ensure a seamless approach to care.
Provide education to patients and families to facilitate progress during and beyond therapy sessions.
Occasionally perform inpatient evaluations and interventions in speech therapy to maintain a continuity of care for those in need.
Keep thorough and up-to-date documentation compliant with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Commit to ongoing learning through professional development and peer collaboration in the field.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if ASHA certification is still pending.
State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of employment commencement.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies pertinent to all age groups, with a comprehensive grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional communication skills to connect effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Adeptness at tailoring therapy approaches to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong analytical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
Comfortable navigating electronic medical record systems and documentation protocols.
Attractive compensation reflective of experience.
Flexible scheduling that supports work-life harmony and diverse case management.
Opportunities to pursue specializations in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Generous paid time off (PTO) coupled with holiday remuneration.
Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
Support for continuing education and professional growth.
An encouraging, team-oriented workplace committed to quality care and continuous learning.
In this position, you won't just be delivering speech therapy; you will engage in a community-focused initiative that champions the restoration of voices, enhances communication, and celebrates joyful moments rooted in the fundamental human experiences of listening and being heard.
Work alongside fellow professionals who treat each other as family in a collaborative environment that prioritizes teamwork over rivalry. Each patient comes with a unique narrative, and we entrust you with the vital role of helping shape that story.
Welcome to Portland, where city life meets the allure of nature, creating a unique blend that embraces both innovation and a sense of community. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, including lush forests and majestic mountains, you will find countless opportunities for outdoor adventures, from hiking the scenic trails of the Columbia River Gorge to enjoying serene days at the waterfront.
Community gathering spots abound, with vibrant locals and travelers alike coming together to enjoy the diverse food scene, arts, and culture that this city has to offer. Explore everything from trendy coffee shops and farmers markets to food carts featuring global cuisines that delight the palate.
Your professional path here will not only be enriched by the vibrant culture but also the practical benefits of Portland life: no sales tax, an attractive work-life balance, and a growing healthcare sector that supports your career development.
Whether you are at the onset of your professional journey or an experienced clinician seeking new horizons, this is a region where personal and professional growth thrives.
We are in search of a Speech Language Therapist who blends passion with compassion. You may be inspired by a timid child and foresee their future filled with expression, or listen to the hesitant speech of a rehabilitation patient and see a story of resilience waiting to be told.
Your expertise may focus on pediatrics while you desire to broaden your knowledge into adult care — or perhaps your experience lies within adult neuro therapy with an enthusiasm to integrate pediatric practice.
Whatever your aspirations, if you are prepared to serve with heartfelt dedication and skillful expertise, we are excited to embrace you into our community.
Join us in a community that honors communication and connection, and embodies the courage it takes to begin anew. Apply today to lend your voice to our team — and empower others to find theirs.
