Associate/Attorney - IP Litigation

Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 100 global full service firm with a recognized IP litigation practice seeking a mid level IP Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Washington, DC office.

This practice offers direct access to sophisticated patent and trade secret disputes for major technology, life sciences, and consumer products clients, with meaningful responsibility from early in your tenure. You will work in a partner led, collaborative team that combines high value matters with structured training, clear progression, and genuine cross office collaboration.

The Role

• Act as a core team member on high profile patent and trade secret litigation in federal courts and other forums
• Manage key workstreams across fact development, expert issues, and discovery, taking substantive ownership of assignments
• Draft pleadings, motions, claim construction briefs, and other complex litigation submissions
• Conduct in depth legal research and analysis, and contribute to strategy discussions with partners and clients
• Coordinate directly with clients and senior lawyers, with opportunities for courtroom and trial exposure where appropriate

Ideal Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a mid level IP Litigation Associate Attorney with:

• Approximately 1 to 6 years of experience with intellectual property litigation in a sophisticated practice
• Background in patent and or trade secret matters and strong research, analytical, and writing skills
• Admission to the District of Columbia bar or eligibility to become admitted
• Undergraduate degree in a hard science or life sciences field and strong academic credentials
• Ability to work in the Washington, DC office on an in office basis

Compensation & Benefits

• $225,000 to $365,000 base salary, depending on experience
