Director of Quality

Job Description

Summary/Objective

The Director of Quality position will assist in all operations contributing towards improving Safety, Quality, Performance, by utilizing Continuous Improvement techniques and identifying Innovations needed.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for the development, implementation, and strict adherence to a quality program.
\n
• Develops and/or reviews standards, policies, and procedures for all functions and departments involved with or related to the production of all products.
\n
• The Director of Quality has the ultimate authority and decision over the shipment of any product or products and accepts the responsibility for products being in compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
\n
• Reviews and resolves quality control problems/concerns with the Quality Department and others including vendors, customers, quality control personnel, and any personnel related to production. Coordinates and assists with vendor inspections.
\n
• Periodically inspects completed quality control checklists, forms, and other documents; randomly inspects and verifies quality control checks for conformance to prescribed standards.
\n
• Schedules and performs quality audits and reports findings to the President, Executive Vice President, Vice President operations; develops corrective action plans and ensures timely resolution of findings.
\n
• Receives and reviews all customer satisfaction surveys and customer contacts and complaints. Reviews complaint trends and product/component failure analysis; reviews corrective actions with appropriate personnel.

• Prepares reports and other documentation required by regulatory agencies and to support the quality function.
\n

Must be a team player and would work with multiple personnel levels within the company.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will have direct responsibility over the Quality Department, along with indirect responsibility over all operations.

The President, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Operations has appointed the Director of Quality position as the Management Representative. The Management Representative has been granted organizational freedom and unrestricted access to top management to resolve quality management issues.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work on the shop floor; the noise level in the work environment can be loud.
