• Bachelor's degree (P)
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish/English (reading and writing) (P)

• 3-5 years of experience in school food services or a related field (R)

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, speak, listen, and follow directions (R)

• Experience with state and/or federal child nutrition reporting (R)

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards governing school nutrition programs (R)

• Proficiency with food service software systems (R)

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (R)

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Business Services

JOB GOAL: The Child Nutrition Compliance Coordinator ensures the district's food service program meets all state and federal regulations by managing reporting, overseeing the Point-of-Sale system, (POS), and supporting audits. This role also recommends process improvements for efficiency and supervises the Administrative Secretary of Child Nutrition Services.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) through regular evaluations and training
• Coordinate and prepare documentation for state and federal audits, including follow-up on corrective actions
• Manage and oversee meal applications, eligibility determinations, and Direct Certification processes; ensure timely and accurate data entry into the POS and Student Information System (SIS)
• Ensure USDA reimbursement claims are accurate and submitted on time and maintain all supporting documentation
• Oversee USDA commodity ordering, inventory compliance, and product surveys in collaboration with the Food Service Management Company (FSMC)
• Oversee meal deposit reconciliation, time entry and purchase requisition approvals for the department
• Serve as the primary liaison for communication with families regarding meal eligibility, account balances, and other food service-related matters
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with ADE, USDA representatives, and district staff
• Facilitate and deliver compliance training for child nutrition staff across the district
• Generate financial and operational reports to support program tracking and decision-making
• Perform general administrative duties such as recordkeeping, data entry, and correspondence

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:


This is a 12-month classified exempt position. Salary is based upon the Classified Exempt Placement Schedule as established by the Governing Board. Employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.

The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy on evaluation of support staff personnel.
