2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Direct message the job poster from Insight Global NextGen Government Services Practice Lead at Insight Global Location: Norfolk, VA Duration: 9-month contract + extensions or potential for conversion – 10 years of work through this company Compensation: $37.98/hour (no flexibility above this) Qualifications: 2 years of experience working directly with cable/fiber optics IPC Certification is a significant plus Experience with sub-surface communication optical cable, potting, fiber optics, electro-mechanical assemblies Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills Ability to develop creative yet practical solutions to technical challenges Experience interpreting schematic diagrams & engineering drawings Must be able to obtain a US Secret Clearance Willing to travel approximately 25% of the time Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Experience in electro-optic cable terminations and jointing, sub-surface communication cable management, and electronics assembly Tasks may include fiber optic splicing, potting mechanical and electronic components, Hi-Pot testing, hydrostatic-pressure testing, soldering electrical and electronic assemblies Soldering electronic components onto boards and other electrical assemblies Performing coarse and fine adjustments using hand tools, precision measuring devices, and specialized equipment like vacuum systems, digital indicators, microscopes, height gages, Vernier gages, micrometers, and electronic testing fixtures Additional Details Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Employment type: Contract Job function: Manufacturing Industries: Staffing and Recruiting, Manufacturing Referrals can double your chances of interviewing at Insight Global.
