Special Assistant

Summary Position part of National Archives and Records Administration, Federal Record Centers. As a special assistant you will provide high-level support through cross-cutting organizational development projects and assignments designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of programs, systems, processes, and staff. Responsibilities Ensure high-level communication with internal and external advisory groups, and support communication activities with component heads, managers, supervisors, administrative staff, and stakeholders. Propose, manage, and participate in projects to improve operations and culture. Develop work plans, provide general day-to-day direction in compliance with work plans, policies, and procedures, monitor progress, and submit management reports. Qualifications At least one year of experience at the GS-14 level or equivalent, demonstrating ability to communicate orally and in writing with all levels in an organization and with internal and external stakeholders. Leading, initiating, and managing special projects and/or assignments. Overseeing budgets, analyzing results, developing proposals, and briefing management. For GS-15 level, have been at GS-14 level for at least 52 weeks. Current Federal employees on non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment. Requirements Must be U.S. citizen or U.S. national. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment and a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process. Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel. File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually thereafter. Designated and/or random drug testing may be required. Position requires a Top Secret clearance. Any applicant must register with the Selective Service System if male born after December 31, 1959, unless exempt.
