The Danville Police Department is recruiting new candidates to join our team. We will be hiring immediately upon completion of all testing and background checks. Qualifications
All police officer candidates must be able to successfully pass physical agility, a written test, an oral interview, and medical and psychological testing. All candidates are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent. A thorough background investigation is required for all candidates prior to consideration for hire. All candidates must have a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to appointment and be eligible to carry a firearm in the State of Illinois. Each candidate must be 21 to 40 years of age by the beginning of Basic Law Enforcement Training.
Special Requirements
Employees of the City must establish their principal residence within forty-five (45) miles of the City of Danville corporate limits within six (6) months following successful completion of their probationary period.
