Sr Sterile Processing Tech

Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Sr. Sterile Processing Tech at Chandler Regional Medical Center, you will decontaminate surgical instruments and other medical equipment, assemble, prepare and package surgical instruments, and process using various methods of high/low temperature sterilization and disinfection. You will maintain quality control and biological monitoring systems for sterilization processes, answer the telephone and respond to requests for sterile instruments and supplies, prepare and distribute case carts and sterile supplies, and utilize computer systems for case cart stock supply, stock return, and electronic instrument management. You will acquire and maintain CRCST certification and serve as an instrument and sterilization resource for the facility, troubleshooting issues from customers and acting as a departmental preceptor while maintaining qualifications. Job Responsibilities Assist with implementation of infection control policies. Decontaminate surgical instruments, power equipment, and other medical devices. Use manual disinfectants appropriately. Function as a resource regarding decontamination practices. Coordinate sterilizing schedule to meet the instrumentation needs of all ORs and clinics. Maintain quality control records for all sterilizers and high level disinfection processes. Troubleshoot minor issues with equipment and follow appropriate protocol for handling service calls. Understand and comply with all sterilizing policies and regulations. Assemble, package, and label instruments for various methods of sterilization. Communicate implant re‑order needs and manage vendor loaner and consignment trays. Restock peel pack, tape, integrity locks, wrappers, and indicators. Prepare and deliver case carts using aseptic technique when handling and distributing sterile instruments and supplies. Job Requirements High school graduate or GED with 18 months of surgical instrument technician experience, upon hire. Certified and Registered Central Service Technician, upon hire, or certified Sterile Processing and Disinfection Technician, upon hire.
