Job Summary:
The Oregon City, Oregon-based Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit is seeking a qualified healthcare professional for a night shift position. This role involves providing comprehensive maternal and neonatal care in a Level II maternity unit with a Level I nursery, accommodating patients primarily over 35 weeks of gestation. Candidates will be expected to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications including AWHONN Advanced, BLS, NRP, STABLE; Epic charting system experience; minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery; community hospital experience preferred; Oregon or other U.S. state licensure required; ability to work night shifts and commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
• Additional Information: This position requires the ability to assist with high-risk deliveries, sterile speculum exams, and various obstetric procedures. Candidates may be required to float between units per hospital needs. Candidate must be flexible to work in a fast-paced environment following AWHONN staffing standards, with experience in adult cardiac arrest, postpartum care, neonatal resuscitation, and invasive fetal monitoring preferred.
• Float: Float rotation may be required depending on unit needs.
• On-Call: Not specified.
• Weekend Coverage: Yes, every other weekend.
• Unit Details: The unit comprises 14 beds with active labor and postpartum care, including a Level I nursery and one operating room on the unit.
• Patient Age Groups: Neonates and adults, primarily over 35 weeks gestation.
• Other Responsibilities: Assist with cesarean sections, fetal monitoring, postpartum care, teaching discharge instructions, using various obstetric equipment and procedures, and maintaining patient safety protocols.
