Title
Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule
Shift: Nights
Weekly hours: Option of 36 or 48 hours
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend required

Assignment Details
Patient population: Adults
Daily census: 12; beds/rooms: 16

Requirements
- Minimum: 1 year acute care nursing experience
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Licensure: Pending NM/Compact license accepted - must be obtained prior to start
- Patient ratio experience: 1:6
- Core clinical skill areas:
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- IV access/PICC/PICC management, peripheral IVs, blood draws
- Respiratory support: nasal cannula, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, non-invasive airway management, suctioning
- Post-op/acute care: chest tubes, surgical drains, wound care/Wound VAC, post-angiogram/post-MI care
- Common med-surg skills: insulin/IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, PCA management, enteral feeding tube care

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry results, responding to any dysrhythmias.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products according to protocols.
- Provide post-operative care and monitor patients for complications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding health management and care plans.

Compliance / Notes
- Floating: Travelers may be expected to float to like units within scope; brief orientation provided.
- Pre-approved time off: two requests allowed as listed.
