Warehouse Lead Operator

The Warehouse Lead Operator plays a critical role in overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate handling of inventory and shipments. This position is responsible for leading a team of warehouse staff, coordinating workflow, and maintaining high standards of productivity and quality control. The Lead Operator acts as a liaison between warehouse personnel and management, facilitating communication and problem-solving to meet operational goals. They are also accountable for enforcing safety protocols and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the role ensures that all warehouse activities contribute to seamless supply chain operations and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse environments.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
• Certification in forklift operation and other warehouse machinery.
• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to improve warehouse processes.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of warehouse staff to optimize productivity and maintain operational efficiency.
• Manage inventory control processes, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse team members to promote skill development and performance improvement.
• Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and quality assurance teams to resolve issues and streamline processes.
• Monitor equipment usage and maintenance needs to prevent downtime and ensure operational readiness.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to warehouse activities and inventory levels.
