Facility Location 309 Lancaster Dr. NE, Salem, OR 97301 Clinical Schedule 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Coverage Facility operates 7 days per week Ideal Candidate Flexible and willing to work 2 weekend days per month Participate in telephonic on‑call coverage Support a collaborative team dedicated to consistent, high‑quality patient care Role Overview As a Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the Recovery Village Salem, you will provide comprehensive medical and mental‑health services to patients admitted to ARS facilities and throughout the continuum of care. You will work in partnership with facility leadership, nurses, and other providers to deliver evidence‑based care in accordance with state and federal regulations. Job Duties Provide excellent medical care aligned with ARS philosophy, establishing rapport, gathering data, and determining readiness for treatment. Screen for co‑occurring primary mental‑health issues and substance use disorders, including intoxication and withdrawal. Apply knowledge of medications, assess for medication complications, and implement detoxification protocols and prescribing practices. Use evidence‑based tools (CSSRS, PHQ‑9) to screen for danger to self or others, analyze data, and prioritize treatment. Screen for nutritional deficiencies and refer for consultation as appropriate. Screen for pain, evaluate pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatment strategies, and consider risks of dependency. Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation, including psychiatric evaluation, physical examinations, progress notes, discharge summaries, orders, allergies, diagnoses, lab interpretations, and HIV/STD results. Document decision‑making and treatment planning using ASAM criteria and medical needs criteria. Perform on‑call duties, remaining within one hour of the facility when assigned. Additional Responsibilities with the Medical Director Develop cost‑effective methods for medically necessary therapeutic services. Support high standards of patient care and peer review processes. Provide support to nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and students. Adhere to safety, infection control, and facility guidelines. Clock into ADP during designated time frames if non‑exempt. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned. Requirements Graduate from an accredited nursing master’s program with a Family Nurse Practitioner or higher and a psychiatric nurse practice degree. Experience in addiction medicine or primary behavioral health preferred. Familiarity with JCAHO, ASAM criteria, and continuous quality improvement philosophy. Strong communication skills and confidence in all facility levels. Licensed nurse with DEA authorization and completed buprenorphine prescribing training; at least eight hours of educational training on opioid treatment. Compliance with state protocol agreements and local nursing board requirements.
