Campus Veterinary Clinic is a long‑standing general practice hospital located in Berkeley, California, looking for a Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. We value compassionate, high‑quality medicine and community impact. Salary: $28–$39 per hour, depending on experience, education, licensure, and certifications. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30am–6:00pm (shifts start at 7:00am). Saturday coverage not required. Closed on Sunday and federal holidays. Benefits Continuing education allowance License reimbursement Scrub allowance Additional PTO and sick time Full‑time benefits include medical, dental, vision, and other health coverage (applies to full‑time employees) Responsibilities Supervise and support the Practice Manager as a primary point of contact with technicians and veterinarians. Perform complete dental prophylaxis with radiographs. Place IV and urinary catheters and apply casts, bandages, and splints. Provide general nursing care: fluid therapy, vital monitoring, pain assessment, and management. Monitor anesthesia and assist with pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative care, including intubation. Conduct laboratory skills such as cytology set‑up, interpretation, and use of Idexx equipment. Conduct diagnostic procedures including digital radiology, dental radiography, and ultrasound‑guided cystocentesis. Educate clients on animal care, medications, nutrition, and post‑treatment instructions. Maintain high attention to detail, multitask, and manage stressful or emotional situations professionally. Communicate effectively and organize work with current doctors and team members. Qualifications 3+ years’ experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant in a clinical hospital. Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California required, or eligibility to transfer/acquire licensure within 3 months of hire. Degree from an AVMA‑accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required. Strong pharmacology knowledge, including dosages, routes, side effects, and proper administration. Knowledge of industry tools, equipment, and current industry practices. Compassionate, calm demeanor with animals and clients; Fear‑Free and low‑stress handling preferred.
