Production Technician

Job Title: Production Technician (2nd Shift)

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to operate sewing machines to assemble bedding components. This involves working with glue and other materials to ensure proper bed assembly, encasing main foam components in fabric, and standing for extended periods of 8-12 hours per day while performing manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate sewing machines to assemble bedding components.

• Work with glue and other materials to ensure proper bed assembly.

• Encapsulate main foam components in fabric.

• Monitor material output to ensure quality standards are met.

• Lift materials weighing up to 75 lbs.

• Execute prescribed repetitive processes to meet production and quality standards in a continuous flow manufacturing environment.

• Perform routine inspections and basic preventative maintenance on equipment.

• Work in various process areas including Coiling, Foam Encasement, Assembly, Gluing, Sewing, Borders, Quilting, Closing, and Packing.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in assembly and operation of hand and power tools.

• At least 3 years of assembly experience.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.

• Proficient in using a tape measure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Work Environment

The role operates in a clean and organized warehouse environment during the 1st or 2nd shift from 6 AM to 3PM or 4 PM to 12 AM. The work environment involves exposure to high noise levels, hot raw materials, and fire-retardant materials, with limited chemical exposure. The company provides Personal Protective Equipment for safety, and the workplace follows Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
