Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Kentucky RN license required
  
• Current BLS certification required
  
• One to two years of nursing experience required
  
• Previous hospital experience required
  
• Rehabilitation nursing experience preferred
  
• Experience caring for patients recovering from amputations, strokes, and hip or knee replacements preferred
  
• Strong patient-assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  
• Proficiency with medication administration and clinical documentation
  
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
  
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
  
• Ability to respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
  

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with physician orders and facility procedures.
  
• Complete patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
  
• Administer medications and prescribed treatments safely.
  
• Support patients recovering from amputations, strokes, and joint-replacement procedures.
  
• Assist with rehabilitation goals and patient-care plans.
  
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and other clinical professionals.
  
• Educate patients and families regarding treatments, recovery, and ongoing care needs.
  
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate clinical staff.
  
• Follow all patient-safety, infection-control, and facility procedures.
  
• Respond promptly and appropriately to urgent patient needs.
  
• Perform additional nursing duties as assigned.
