The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Long Beach, CA facility.Position Responsibilities:Performing detailed structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis can support production, responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination and show compliance to regulatory requirementsProviding guidance on structural design and configuration developmentCreate trade studies to optimize the structure and meet program requirementsWork with the team to integrate component-level structural models and perform integrated analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses to verify structural integrity with minimal instructionDocument structural analyses and data required to show compliance with Boeing, customer, and regulatory requirementsParticipate in the resolution of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer (internal and external)The ability to support regular and emergent domestic or international travel to support our customersAbility to work on-site 5 days per weekMay be asked to support other programs as neededOur teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced or Lead Level Structural Analysis Engineers.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or chemistry or other technical degree5+ years of experience with Stress Analysis/Structural Analysis3+ years of experience with classical hand analysis and FEA software experienceExperience with Boeing tools, processes, and proceduresExperience with Fatigue and Damage Tolerance AnalysisWilling & able to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationallyPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):9+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education2+ years leading and mentoring structural analyst team members while engaging with cross-functional stakeholders2+ years engaged in 787 primary structural analysisConflict of Interest:Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits:At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
