We’re seeking a creative and technically skilled Application Sales Engineer to design innovative outdoor shade solutions for public spaces, recreational areas, and commercial properties. What You’ll Do

Design & Development

• Design high-quality shade structures such as pergolas, pavilions, canopies, and tensioned fabric systems
• Evaluate project feasibility during presale by reviewing client requirements, site conditions, and budget considerations
• Optimize designs for performance, cost, and visual appeal

Collaboration

• Partner with architects, landscape architects, project managers, and contractors
• Integrate shade systems into broader site and architectural designs

Structural Engineering

• Perform structural analysis to ensure safety and durability
• Design for environmental loads including wind, snow, and UV exposure

Materials & Sustainability

• Select appropriate materials (fabrics, metals, tension systems) for long-term performance
• Incorporate sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental impact considerations

Compliance & Quality

• Ensure designs meet local building codes, zoning requirements, and safety standards
• Maintain high standards for both design accuracy and execution

Project Oversight & Client Engagement

• Support project execution and make on-site adjustments as needed
• Serve as a technical advisor and key point of contact for clients

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Experience designing and engineering shade structures or similar outdoor systems
• Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and structural design software (e.g., RFEM)
• Strong understanding of materials, tensioned fabric systems, and structural components
• Knowledge of environmental factors (wind loads, UV exposure, durability considerations)
• Familiarity with building codes, safety standards, and zoning regulations
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
