Registered Nurse (RN)

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) working in the Emergency Room (ER). The role entails providing quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment, floating between multiple locations within the region.

Position available in: Bryan, TX and College Station, TX

Trauma Level: III

Daily patient volume: Approximately 135 patients

Equipped with 30 beds and 2 trauma bays

Facilities include a separate Triage area and a Fast Track, referred to as "vertical care"

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the ER
• Participate in trauma care and rapid response interventions
• Assist with the administration of medications and IV therapy
• May be assigned to Triage duties based on skill assessment
• Provide care for a variety of cases including trauma, pediatric patients, and geriatric patients
• Documentation and charting using MEDITECH

General acute care beds: 1:3-4

Level I traumas: 1:1 or 2:1 as per acuity

Fast Track (vertical care): 1:6-8

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience
• Experience in a facility with similar patient volume and trauma level is preferred
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS

• RN must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (minimum 83%) prior to contract signing
• Call-outs are discouraged and may lead to termination
• Potential for precepting may be required as needed by the unit
• Must be able to float between locations and assist in various roles as needed

• 12-hour shifts with a hybrid scheduling model including some self-scheduling
• Rotation for weekends and holidays required

The unit fosters a positive culture and teamwork, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care.

The facility retains the right to cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.

• Respiratory Therapy available in the ER 24/7
• Nurse aids and Patient Care Techs provide support, with varied roles including patient care and administration assistance
• Transport and phlebotomy services are available within the ER
