Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in the MS specialty located in an acute care facility. This role involves providing direct patient care in a Medical Surgical unit, with responsibilities including handling patients with conditions such as pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, ESRD, cellulitis, GI issues, and trauma-related neuro issues. The position requires float capabilities within skill sets and adherence to unit protocols.

Job Details

• Position Description:
  Candidates must be available to work 12-hour night shifts during a rotating schedule, including every other weekend and major holidays. The unit notes that candidates must be able to read strips when floated to Med/Surg floors and have experience with common diagnosis. Float to MedSurg 5, Telemetry 7 (within skill set), and Rehab. The role involves working with Cerner electronic charting and supporting a patient ratio of 5:1 on MedSurg beds, 1:12 to 1:14 for aides, with specific orientation included.
• Required Qualifications:
  Current BLS certification; minimum of 2 years of experience; ability to work nights, weekends, holidays; valid licensure to submit.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  Chemo certification preferred.
• Schedule:
  Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week, starting 10/12/2026 and ending 01/11/2027.
• Additional Information:
  The unit manages patients with a variety of diagnoses such as pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, ESRD, and trauma-related neuro issues. Candidates will be floated to different units within their skill set and must complete one preceptor shift for orientation.
