Surgical Nurse Opportunity

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing exceptional surgical nursing care. This role involves collaborating closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and surgical staff to support patients before, during, and after surgical procedures using sterile techniques and specialized equipment.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience

At least one year of acute care nursing experience is preferred to ensure readiness for the fast-paced surgical environment.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license valid in a Compact State or the state of employment.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to established patient safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care, including medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient/family education.
• Perform thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status and support quality outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation to comply with quality measures and core standards.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, healthcare team members, patients, and families to enhance care and patient experience.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Adapt positively to the dynamic healthcare environment and pursue ongoing professional development.

Physical and Mental Demands: This position requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, lifting up to 35 pounds, and various physical movements such as standing, turning, pushing, and reaching. The role also involves exposure to infectious and communicable diseases.
