Opportunity:

RN - OR

Job Details:

• Work in general surgery operating room, excluding neuro or ortho cases
• Variable start times for day shift (anywhere between 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Minimum 2 years of operating room experience required
• Not recommended for first-time travelers
• Required certification: BLS
• Must have experience with general surgery cases including: Breasts/Plastics, Vascular, Laparoscopic, General Oncology, Genitourinary (GU), Gynecology (GYN), Abdominal XI Robots
• Cross-trained to all Main OR and Urology center with no floating to other hospitals
• On-call requirements: 30-minute response time, 8-week call schedule with shifts from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, 5-8 call slots, 1-2 weekends with 12-hour shifts
• Weekend rotation covered with call
• Orientation period of 1-1.5 weeks depending on team and shift
• Use EPIC charting system, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing
• Surgical scrubs provided by hospital; scrub caps allowed but must be covered by surgical bouffant
• Support available from charge nurses, leads, supervisors, and managers

This medical center is a comprehensive healthcare facility featuring 636 beds and 21 operating room beds. The facility holds Level III Trauma Center designation, operates a Level III NICU, maintains Magnet recognition for nursing excellence, and serves as a Primary Stroke Center. The facility provides advanced surgical services with modern equipment and comprehensive support systems for healthcare professionals.
